Why Does a Heater Blow Cold Air?
When a heater blows cold air, it can be a sign the thermostat isn't set properly or the fan isn't on. Typically, when cold air is blown from a heater it's actually caused by the air filters. When an air filter isn't changed and the dirt and dust build up in it clogs can occur. If an air filter is too dirty, the warm air produced in the heater or furnace can't pass through to the ductwork and your home. This build up of hot air can also overheat the heat exchanger and cause it to shut down. Due to this it is important to have your heater's filters replaced every 90 days or 3 months.
